He started kindergarten on Wednesday. I've been pretty nervous about it since, again, unknown quantity. He usually refuses to practice letters, numbers, and sounds with me, so it's tough to tell how much he knows. But when he met with his teacher last Friday, he actually did really well. (Except for when she asked, "If I have 3 cubes and add 1 cube, how many would I have?" He replied right away, "Nine!")
He's been pretty quiet about school since he started, but he smiles when you ask him if he likes it. More than any of my other kids, I really wish I could be a fly on the wall in his kindergarten classroom, if for no other reason to understand more about this unknown quantity I have for a son.

I've heard that this is more of a problem with boys and infinitely more so with boys. I have a friend that finds if she goes through her son's day, point by point (so, who did you sit by at lunch, then what did you do for PE . . .) that she can eke more out of him. I'm glad T likes school so far. (I like the math. I found out a few weeks ago that Bam will no longer count past twelve and twelve is a dozen --as in 10, 11, dozen) Oh if we could figure out their brains sometimes!
he looks adorable. in ny the age cut off is december so soren is starting kindergarten at the rip old age of 4...he will be 5 in 3 weeks. it will be interesting to see how he handles it all.
He sounds so much like his Dad was at that age!
I feel the same way about H. He starts piano for the first time today. I have absolutely no idea if this will be a huge mistake because he won't be able sit still or if it will use a different part of his brain and he will love it. Kids today huh? Who can read their minds!
