Will Ferrell

I'm a fan of Will Ferrell. Well, a sometimes fan, I would say. Elf—good. His political satire—no good. Some of his Saturday Night Live work—good. Bewitched—good. Sadly, most of his film work—no good. His appearance on the TV show Man vs. Wild—good. Stranger than Fiction—very good.

Whenever I mention that I love the movie Stranger than Fiction and people find out Will Ferrell is in it, they inevitably express their distaste for him. But really, it's not a "Will Ferrell movie." It's actually more of a drama than a comedy. It's unconventional, sweet, quirky, funny, and really well-written. I watched it last week and remembered again why I like it so much.

I highly recommend you give it a try.

Excellent movie. The soundtrack and music from it is awesome. And on Will Ferrell, I find that I like him in movies or shows that DON'T involve physical comedy or 10 year old boy humor. That's why Elf, Bewitched and Stranger than Fiction are on the good list. And the Man vs. Wild episode? Genius! Apparently, Ben Stiller's signed up for an episode too.

Yeah, very not Will Ferrell, and really there were a lot of things that struck me about that movie - I remember even writing down some of the quotes at the end thinking they were kind of profound (narrator quotes, I believe). I even blogged about this movie a few years ago too!

I like that movie too, and I always thought I was the only one.

I like Will Ferrell in that movie in the same way I love Dan in Real Life but am otherwise not so much a Steve Carell fan or Jack Black in Holiday but not so much otherwise.

I love Stranger than Fiction. I love the song he sings and that he brings her "flours". I love it. I also like him in Elf and in Kicking and Screaming. Have fun at Book Club. We have our first outdoor game of the season tonight at 7.
