I've had a horrible time falling asleep all week. One night, I got up and watched a few episodes of "Little People, Big World" (fabulous show, by the way) until I was groggy enough that I thought I could sleep. Last night, I caught some of "Zoolander." Awesome. And also last night, my OCD kicked in at 11:45 pm and I wondered if I had indeed locked the clerk's office door at the church after getting the library key out of it for the Enrichment meeting. So, I went back to check. (And of course all was well.) *Sigh.*
So, I haven't felt much like posting, or being around other people, according to my husband. Maybe I was just angry at the world, maybe I was having a bad hormone week, or maybe I was just nervous about the upcoming ultrasound. I wanted so badly for S to get a sister--just one sister. And I worried that something would be wrong with one of the babies, and on and on with all of the scenarios that pregnant women worry about.
Well, the big day was today, and here are the results:

It might be tough to tell on this picture, but let's just say that this little boy was not shy about showing off his stuff. And the other one...
One of each! This was the scenario we hoped for, but I didn't want to let myself believe that it would actually happen.Sure, it's awesome that S will get a sister and that this will work the best for our bedroom situation in the house. But what really matters is that we got to see two hearts beating away, arms and legs kicking around (and kicking each other in the head, from the looks of it), and four little feet, all in a row.

P.S. I had two nice things said to me today. The ultrasound tech said, "You're so small." If I wasn't covered in that goopy jelly and flat on my back, I would have hugged her. Then the nurse told me my arms were tiny. Almost hugged her too. :)

Yay! I'm so happy for you! One of each sounds like so much fun. Hip hip hooray! - Sarah
That is so exciting!! How fun to have one of each!
And you ARE small, and you DO have skinny arms, heck, you're skinny everywhere!
Beautiful! Congratulations. I am so happy that both babies are doing well, and one of each is an extra special blessing. And I know without even looking at you that you are as beautiful as you have always been - and ENVIABLY skinny. I love you!
okay it's been too long since I've had a baby cause I'm telling you I couldn't make out a thing in the pictures...hee hee. I still can't believe it's one of each. You must have done something good to get EXACTLY what you hoped for. Congrats, congrats, congrats!!
Love you!
I am so excited for you! That is definitely the perfect scenario. It is going to be so fun having one of each!
WOW! DST is kicking my butt too...I can't seem to get enough sleep! Anyway, how exciting for you guys...one of each! (my sis just found out she's having twins too!) And BTW, you are very tiny and I would imagine, have every reason to be grumpy!
I am so excited for you, and for S. Every girl needs a sister, even if the fight sometimes! I am also glad I am not the only one with OCD. I make D double check everything in the house before we leave!
Hi Tennille,
This is Jennifer Thomas- better known to you as Jenny Pyle. I found some old Franklin Ward-ite's blog and through many links ended up on yours. How exciting to be having twins! Congrats and good luck! You can check out my blog here: fairlite2u.blogspot.com. It's fun to find out what the people you grew up with are up to these days :)
Yeah! I'm so happy for you and your family. You have been on my mind lately. I'm glad things went well. I got total anxiety before my ultrasound praying everything would be fine. Congrats!
What cute pictures. They look just like A, but they do have you slinder body and pretty eyes.
Anyways, glad to hear all is well and S is getting her sister. I am sure she will have alot to talk about in carpool next week.
Keep up the good work.
Congrats to you guys! One of each is so cute!
How exciting!! Congrats. You don't look pregnant enough to be having an ultrasound, nonetheless have it be twins! So not fair!
Wahoo!!! That is awesome. I am so super excited for you. I hope the end will go fast and these two precious babies will let you sleep at night. I love you a ton. I have to agree on the skinny arm thing. You have the skinniest limbs. Lucky gal.
Hi Tennille-
I found your blog off of Danielle's and she said to check it out. Congrats on the twins. In fact, I just asked Danielle today if you were pregnant, I wasn't even sure, and to be pregnant with twins! That is awesome. I hope all goes well. Congrats!

You ARE tiny my dear sister!even if you were carrying a herd of elephants, your body would find a way to do it slenderly. We're so excited for your little ones. Cyd is SO delighted that S will have a sister. I agree; girls should have sisters. yeah.
I am so happy for you! A little jealous too, I have to admit. I always wanted boy/girl twins! Congrats! You are a tiny thing too, by the way. No doubt about that! I hope you get some sleep soon too. I always had sleep issues when pregnant, so I know how you feel. It's hard to be happy when running on empty. Send S over anytime if you need a break!
Tennille,
What the heck I saw your comments on Natalies blog. this is where you can find me: jonf23.blogspot.com and this is Ally's: allyandtheherd.blogspot.com
So anyhow, twins? Holy cow! I will be in touch.
I'm so excited for you. You know the whole family was pulling for a girl and a boy. I'm excited because my boys will have a boy cousin close to their age and Emma will have a girl cousin close to her age. Perfect!
Oh and even though I said you have started to look a little pregnant the other day, you are still TEENIE!! I swear by 19 weeks I was enormous. You look fantastic for one baby, let alone two!
Congrats Tennille! How exciting! That's awesome...one of each! I have to tell you that I think S is so cute! In Primary yesterday, she was a team leaders for name that tune. She got all excited and her cheeks turned red as she gave me the right answer. It was the CUTEST thing :)
Congrats--a boy and a girl, how fun! So glad everything looked good on the ultrasound.
Yea! Congrats again! Glad S will be getting a sister. We all know how important it is to have sisters to complain to and get advice from. And as for your size, I'm pretty sure you could fit both your legs in one of my pant legs. You're tiny, kiddo!
Yeah for you! I'm so happy the babies are healthy and growing. One of each?!?! That is so exciting. Congrats x2.
How exciting to have one of each!! When you're up at night you should drive to Brooke's and do her dishes for her :) Or fly to my house and do mine. I sometimes let that one go, too.
LUCKY! One of each! We keep wondering at what number we would stop if we never manage to produce a girl. I was just thinking this morning - wow I hope Tennille doesn't end up with 4 boys, so I thought I'd better check and see. Phew.
